About the Nissan X-Trail T32
The third-generation X-Trail (T32) marked a significant departure from the boxy, rugged aesthetic of its predecessors, adopting a sleeker design shared with the smaller Qashqai. Built on the Renault-Nissan CMF-CD platform, it prioritised on-road comfort and family practicality, offering a seven-seat option for the first time. The 1.6-litre dCi 130 engine, developed with Renault, provided a balance of efficiency and sufficient torque for towing, replacing the older 2.0-litre units. While it lost some of the T31's utilitarian charm, it gained significant improvements in interior quality and safety technology.
