About the Nissan Terrano II R20
The Nissan Terrano II, designated R20, was a body-on-frame SUV developed primarily for the European market and manufactured by Nissan Motor Ibérica in Spain. Unlike many modern crossovers, it featured a proper low-range transfer case and a robust live rear axle, making it a favourite for agricultural and utility use. The 2.7 TDi engine, introduced in 1996 with an intercooler, provided a significant torque boost over the earlier non-intercooled TD units. While its tall, narrow stance resulted in significant body roll on-road, its durability and mechanical simplicity have earned it a cult following among off-road enthusiasts.
