About the Nissan Primera P12
The P12-generation Nissan Primera was a radical departure for the brand, trading the conservative styling of its predecessors for a futuristic 'monoform' silhouette. Developed under the new Renault-Nissan alliance, it featured a distinctive centre-mounted instrument cluster and was one of the first mainstream cars to offer a reversing camera as standard on many trims. While its avant-garde design and tech-heavy cabin were ahead of their time, the P12 struggled to match the class-leading driving dynamics of the earlier P10 and P11 models. Today, it is remembered as a bold experiment in family car design that prioritised ergonomics and technology.
