About the Mitsubishi Sapporo A120

The Mitsubishi Sapporo, known in Japan as the Galant Lambda, was a sophisticated pillarless coupé designed to compete with European executive cars. The A120 generation featured distinctive American-influenced styling, including a wrap-around rear window and a plush, gadget-heavy interior that was remarkably advanced for the late 1970s. The GSR was the range-topping trim, powered by the 2.0-litre 'Astron' engine featuring Mitsubishi's innovative 'Silent Shaft' technology to reduce vibration. Today, it is a rare survivor of the era, prized by collectors for its unique aesthetic and mechanical refinement.
