About the Mercury Marauder
Reviving a legendary nameplate for the 21st century, the 2003 Mercury Marauder was a high-performance evolution of the Grand Marquis. It traded the standard two-valve V8 for a 32-valve DOHC unit shared with the Mustang Mach 1, supported by a heavy-duty chassis featuring rack-and-pinion steering and Tokico monotube shocks. While its 4,200lb bulk hindered low-end acceleration, the Marauder excelled as a high-speed cruiser with a menacing 'murdered-out' aesthetic. Today, it is a cult classic, prized for being the last rear-wheel-drive performance sedan from the Mercury brand.
