About the Chevrolet Impala SS
The 1994 Impala SS revived a legendary nameplate by transforming the Caprice 9C1 police package into a high-performance street cruiser. It features a detuned version of the Corvette's LT1 V8, distinguished by iron heads for durability and a focus on low-end torque. The aesthetic is defined by its 'murdered-out' look, featuring a unique single-bar grille, 17-inch five-spoke aluminium wheels, and a lowered, heavy-duty suspension. While large and heavy, its body-on-frame construction and rear-wheel-drive layout provide a classic American muscle car driving experience with modernised handling.

Chevrolet Impala SS fun facts
- The 1994 model was only available in Black; Dark Cherry Metallic and Dark Grey Green were added for the 1995 and 1996 model years.
- The Impala SS was born from a 1992 SEMA concept car designed by Jon Moss, which was so well-received that Chevrolet fast-tracked it for production.
- Because it used the police-spec 9C1 cooling system, the Impala SS lacked the mechanical fan of the standard Caprice, using dual electric fans instead.
