About the Mercedes-Benz CLS C219
Launched in 2004, the C219 CLS-Class redefined luxury car design by introducing the 'four-door coupé' concept to the mass market. Based on the W211 E-Class chassis but positioned closer to the flagship S-Class, it prioritised style and presence over outright practicality, featuring a low roofline and a distinctive four-seat cabin. The CLS 500 variant is powered by the dependable M113 V8, known for its smooth power delivery and robust reliability. While it lacks the aggressive edge of the AMG models, the 500 offers a refined grand touring experience aided by standard Airmatic air suspension and the then-novel 7G-Tronic transmission.
