About the Cadillac Seville
The fifth-generation Seville STS (Seville Touring Sedan) represented Cadillac's most serious attempt to compete with European luxury marques on their own turf. It featured the high-output 300 hp Northstar V8 and was the first modern Cadillac engineered for both left- and right-hand drive markets. While its front-wheel-drive layout was unconventional for a sport saloon, its sophisticated StabiliTrak system and MagneRide suspension (introduced later in the run) provided impressive composure. Today, it is remembered as a peak of American front-drive engineering, though it is often overshadowed by the reliability concerns of early Northstar engines.
