About the McLaren MP4-12C
The MP4-12C was the first production car designed and built entirely by McLaren since the legendary F1. It introduced the Carbon MonoCell, a lightweight carbon-fibre tub that became the blueprint for all subsequent McLaren models. Its M838T engine, developed with Ricardo, delivers explosive performance, while the ProActive Chassis Control system uses interconnected hydraulics to provide an exceptionally compliant ride without traditional anti-roll bars. Though early cars were criticised for being too clinical, a 2012 software update improved the engagement and increased power for later models.
