About the Mazda CX-8
Introduced as Mazda's flagship SUV for the Japanese market, the CX-8 was developed to provide three-row utility in a narrower body than the North American-focused CX-9. It shares its wheelbase with the CX-9 but maintains a width closer to the CX-5, making it better suited for urban environments in Asia and Oceania. The 2.5-litre naturally aspirated Skyactiv-G engine provides linear power delivery, though it is often noted for being more focused on efficiency and smoothness than outright pace. Collectors value it for its high-quality Kodo design interior and the rare combination of a premium cabin feel with genuine seven-seat practicality in a mid-size footprint.
