About the Chevrolet Blazer
The second-generation Chevrolet Blazer, often referred to as the S-10 Blazer to distinguish it from the full-size K5, was a cornerstone of the 1990s American SUV boom. Built on a robust body-on-frame chassis shared with the S-10 pickup, it offered genuine off-road capability in a compact, family-friendly package. The 4.3-litre Vortec V6 was essentially a small-block V8 with two cylinders removed, providing ample low-end torque for towing and trail work. While its interior ergonomics and fuel economy lagged behind newer unibody rivals, its mechanical simplicity and ruggedness have maintained its appeal among budget-conscious off-road enthusiasts.
