About the Mazda CX-50
Introduced for the 2023 model year, the CX-50 is Mazda's first vehicle manufactured at the joint Mazda Toyota Manufacturing plant in Alabama. It is designed specifically for the North American market, featuring a wider stance and more rugged styling than the CX-5 to appeal to outdoor enthusiasts. The base 2.5 S trim utilizes the proven Skyactiv-G naturally aspirated engine paired with a standard i-Activ all-wheel-drive system. While it shares a platform with the Mazda3 and CX-30, it offers increased ground clearance and a dedicated off-road drive mode, maintaining Mazda's reputation for sharp handling in a more capable package.
