About the Lexus RX AL10
The third-generation Lexus RX (AL10) refined the luxury hybrid formula that its predecessor established, introducing the more efficient 2GR-FXE Atkinson-cycle V6 engine. The 450h SE trim offered a high level of standard equipment including leather upholstery and the Remote Touch controller, which functioned like a computer mouse. Its E-Four all-wheel-drive system uses a rear-mounted electric motor to provide traction without the need for a mechanical prop shaft. While not a dynamic driver's car, it remains highly regarded for its exceptional build quality, cabin insulation, and long-term reliability.

Lexus RX AL10 fun facts
- The RX 450h was the first Lexus to use the Atkinson-cycle combustion process, which improves fuel efficiency by keeping the intake valves open longer.
- The 'E-Four' system provides all-wheel drive by using a dedicated 50kW electric motor to power the rear wheels independently of the petrol engine.
- The AL10 generation introduced the 'Remote Touch' interface, a haptic-feedback controller designed to be more intuitive than a touchscreen while driving.
