About the Ford Flex
Introduced for the 2009 model year, the Ford Flex was a unique full-size crossover that blended the utility of a minivan with the retro-modern styling of a station wagon. Based on the Ford D4 platform, it featured a distinctive slab-sided design with horizontal grooves and an optional contrasting roof, inspired by the 2005 Fairlane concept. The 3.5-litre Duratec V6 provided adequate power for its substantial size, though it was better known for its exceptionally quiet cabin and smooth ride. While it never reached Ford's ambitious sales targets, it developed a loyal following for its massive interior space and genuine three-row comfort.
