About the Lexus LS XF10
The Lexus LS 400 was the result of the 'F1' project, a billion-dollar effort by Toyota to create the world's best luxury sedan. Upon its 1989 debut, it stunned the industry with its near-silent cabin, exceptional build quality, and a 4.0-litre 1UZ-FE V8 that was famously smooth enough to leave a glass of water undisturbed on the intake manifold at high revs. It offered Mercedes-Benz S-Class refinement at a significantly lower price point, fundamentally shifting the luxury market. Today, it is celebrated as a modern classic, prized for its legendary reliability and historical significance as the car that launched the Lexus brand.
