About the Infiniti Q45 G50
Launched in 1989 alongside the Lexus LS400, the Infiniti Q45 (G50) took a radically different approach to luxury, eschewing traditional wood trim and chrome for a minimalist, driver-focused aesthetic. Its VH45DE V8 engine was a masterpiece of engineering, featuring variable valve timing and a high redline that allowed it to outperform contemporary European rivals. The chassis, derived from the same '901 Movement' program as the R32 Skyline GT-R, featured a sophisticated multi-link suspension and optional four-wheel steering. While its lack of a traditional grille and avant-garde marketing initially hindered sales, it has since gained a cult following for its robust build quality and sports-sedan dynamics.
