About the Land Rover Series IIA
The Series IIA entered production in 1961 as a further development of the original Land Rover. This entry represents a 1965 88-inch-wheelbase model with the 2.25-litre petrol four-cylinder and four-speed manual gearbox. A separate ladder frame, aluminium body panels and selectable low-range four-wheel drive make it well suited to rough terrain and straightforward field repairs. Its austere cabin and leaf-sprung ride reflect its working-vehicle origins; the central valuation is a model-wide Series IIA benchmark, while the range covers Hagerty's three-year auction history for all 1965 88-inch versions.
