Powered by a robust 4.9-litre side-valve four-cylinder engine, it was renowned for its reliability and impressive performance for the era. Its long-wheelbase chassis made it a favourite for elegant custom coachwork, while its mechanical sophistication established Lancia's reputation for innovation. Lancia Theta fun facts

  • The Theta's electrical system was sourced from the American company Rushmore, as European suppliers could not yet provide a reliable integrated solution.
  • Despite its size, the Theta was capable of reaching 120 km/h, making it one of the fastest production cars of the pre-WWI period.
  • The foot brake operated on the transmission, while the handbrake operated on the rear wheels, a common configuration for high-end cars of the time.
