About the Koenigsegg Regera
Unveiled at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, the Regera represents Koenigsegg's shift towards a more refined, luxury-oriented 'megacar' without sacrificing extreme performance. Its defining innovation is the Koenigsegg Direct Drive (KDD) system, which replaces a traditional multi-gear transmission with a single-speed direct-drive mechanism and a hydraulic coupling. This setup, paired with three electric motors and a twin-turbo V8, provides seamless, linear acceleration that is virtually unmatched in the internal combustion world. Only 80 units were produced, making it a highly coveted piece of automotive engineering history that holds multiple world records for 0-400-0 km/h sprints.
