About the NIO EP9
Developed in just 18 months by NIO's performance division, the EP9 is a track-only electric hypercar designed to showcase the brand's technical prowess. It features a carbon-fibre monocoque and four high-performance motors, one at each wheel, enabling sophisticated torque vectoring and a total output of one megawatt. The EP9 gained global fame in 2017 by setting a Nürburgring Nordschleife lap record of 6:45.90, making it one of the fastest vehicles ever to lap the circuit. While not road-legal, its interchangeable battery system and massive downforce—peaking at 24,000 Newtons—demonstrate a commitment to pure racing performance.
