About the Kia Mohave HM
The Kia Mohave, known as the Borrego in North America, was launched in 2008 as a traditional body-on-frame SUV designed to compete with established off-roaders. While it struggled in the US market due to the 2008 financial crisis, it became a long-running success in South Korea and the Middle East. The 3.0-litre V6 CRDi diesel engine, part of the 'S' engine family, provided the high torque necessary for towing and heavy-duty use. Its design was led by Peter Schreyer, featuring a boxy, purposeful aesthetic that prioritised interior space and durability over crossover-style curves.
