About the Jensen Jensen-Healey
The Jensen-Healey was born from a collaboration between Donald Healey and Kjell Qvale to fill the void left by the Austin-Healey 3000. It is historically significant for debuting the Lotus 907 engine, the first mass-produced multi-valve DOHC engine. While early cars suffered from reliability issues and rust, the model proved its performance credentials by winning five SCCA D Production championships. It offers a more modern, sophisticated driving experience than contemporary MGs or Triumphs, though it lacked the rugged charm of its predecessor.

Jensen Jensen-Healey fun facts
- The Lotus 907 engine used in the Jensen-Healey was so new that Jensen acted as the real-world test bed before Lotus used it in their own Elite and Esprit models.
- The car's suspension and steering components were largely sourced from the Vauxhall Firenza to keep development costs down.
- Despite its mixed road-car reputation, the Jensen-Healey is one of the few cars to win an SCCA national championship in its very first year of competition.
