About the Jensen Interceptor SP
Launched in 1971 as the flagship successor to the four-wheel-drive FF, the Jensen SP (Six Pack) was the most powerful car the company ever produced. It utilised Chrysler's massive 440-cubic inch V8 equipped with three twin-barrel Holley carburetors, a setup that provided immense torque but proved notoriously difficult to tune. Visually distinguished by a louvred bonnet and a vinyl roof, the SP offered a unique blend of Italian styling by Touring, American muscle, and British luxury. Only 232 examples were built before the fuel crisis and emissions regulations forced Jensen to revert to a simpler four-barrel carburetor setup.

Jensen Interceptor SP fun facts
- The 'SP' name stands for 'Six Pack', referring to the three two-barrel carburetors that only engaged under heavy acceleration.
- At its launch, the SP's 385 bhp output made it more powerful than contemporary rivals like the Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona.
- Due to the complexity of the triple-carburetor setup, many owners eventually converted their cars to a single four-barrel carburetor for better reliability.
