About the Jaguar 240

Introduced in 1967 as a rationalised successor to the Mark 2 2.4, the Jaguar 240 served as a bridge until the arrival of the XJ6. While it featured cost-cutting measures like Ambla vinyl upholstery and slimmer bumpers, it received a significant mechanical upgrade in the form of a straight-port cylinder head and twin SU carburettors. This boosted output to 133 bhp, making it considerably more spirited than the earlier 2.4-litre models. Today, it is valued by collectors as a more accessible entry point into the iconic Mark 2 body style, offering improved reliability and performance over its predecessor.
