About the Infiniti FX S51
The S51-generation Infiniti FX was designed to be a 'sports car at heart', utilizing a version of the Nissan FM platform shared with the 370Z. The 3.0d variant, introduced in 2010, was Infiniti's first diesel offering, specifically developed for the European market to compete with the BMW X6 and Porsche Cayenne. It features a Renault-Nissan Alliance V9X engine that provides substantial low-end torque, making it a more practical long-distance cruiser than its thirsty petrol V6 and V8 siblings. While its styling remains polarizing and its boot space is compromised by the dramatic roofline, it offers a high level of standard equipment and a distinctive alternative to German rivals.
