About the Hyundai iLoad TQ
The Hyundai iLoad (TQ) arrived as a serious contender in the medium van segment, offering a semi-bonneted design that prioritised safety and cabin ergonomics over traditional forward-control layouts. Unlike many of its front-wheel-drive European rivals, the iLoad utilised a rear-wheel-drive configuration, providing better traction when fully laden and a tighter turning circle. The 2.5-litre CRDi engine was updated for the 2012 model year to meet Euro 5 emissions standards, gaining a six-speed manual gearbox in the process. While it lacked the ultimate refinement of a Volkswagen Transporter, its reputation for durability and a generous five-year warranty made it a popular choice for tradespeople and fleet operators.
