About the Ford Transit Connect Mk3
The third-generation Transit Connect is the van version of the Caddy-based Tourneo Connect people carrier that Ford revealed in 2021, and it is built by Volkswagen in Poznań, Poland, on the MQB platform. Revealed in January 2024 and on sale in Europe later that year, it is identical to the Volkswagen Caddy Cargo apart from details such as its Ford front end, and its engines and gearboxes are Volkswagen units. The representative Trend L1 uses the 2.0-litre EcoBlue diesel, Volkswagen's 1,968 cc TDI, with 102 PS and 280 Nm sent to the front wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox. Ford quotes 3.1 cubic metres of load space and a maximum payload of 739 kg for this version, and the range adds a 122 PS automatic, a 150 PS plug-in hybrid, a long-wheelbase body and the five-seat FlexCab.
