About the Ford S-Max Mk2
The second-generation Ford S-Max, built on the CD4 platform shared with the Mondeo, continued its predecessor's mission of offering a sportier alternative to traditional boxy people carriers. In 2019, it received a significant update featuring the new 2.0-litre EcoBlue diesel engine range, designed to meet stricter Euro 6d-TEMP emissions standards. The Titanium trim was the most popular choice in the UK, balancing high-tech features like traffic sign recognition and lane-keeping aid with the model's signature 'Fold Flat System' for all seven seats. Despite the rise of SUVs, the S-Max remained a benchmark for MPV handling until its discontinuation in 2023.
