About the Ford Mustang SVO Fox Body
Developed by Ford's Special Vehicle Operations department, the SVO was a radical departure from the traditional Mustang formula, aimed at competing with European sports coupes. It featured a turbocharged 2.3-litre engine with an air-to-air intercooler and advanced electronic fuel injection, providing a better weight distribution than the contemporary GT. The chassis was significantly upgraded with Koni adjustable dampers, four-wheel disc brakes, and a unique five-lug hub arrangement. Visually, it is distinguished by its functional offset hood scoop, aerodynamic nose, and iconic bi-plane rear spoiler.
