About the Ford Model N

The Ford Model N was a crucial stepping stone in Henry Ford's quest to build a 'universal car', serving as the direct predecessor to the legendary Model T. Introduced in 1906, it was a lightweight, front-engine runabout that offered a sophisticated four-cylinder engine at a time when most affordable cars used one or two cylinders. Its success proved there was a massive market for inexpensive, reliable transport, effectively funding the development of the Model T. Today, it is highly prized by Brass Era collectors for its mechanical simplicity and historical significance as Ford's first true high-volume success.
