About the Ford C-Max Mk1
Launched as the Focus C-Max before being rebranded simply as the C-Max in 2007, this model was the first to use Ford's C1 platform, which later underpinned the Mk2 Focus. It was designed to compete with the Renault Scénic, offering a higher seating position and flexible interior without sacrificing the sharp handling Ford was known for at the time. The 1.6-litre petrol engine served as the entry-level choice, prioritising economy and low insurance costs over outright performance. While it lacked the seven-seat option of some rivals, its 'Comfort Seat System' allowed the rear middle seat to fold away, letting the outer seats slide diagonally for increased legroom.
