About the Force India VJM08
The VJM08 was developed under technical director Andrew Green with a Mercedes PU106B Hybrid power unit, and was driven by Sergio Pérez and Le Mans winner Nico Hülkenberg. A switch to Toyota's wind tunnel in Cologne, which allowed 60 per cent scale models, contributed to a late start, and the car did not run until the final pre-season test. At the British Grand Prix the team introduced the VJM08B, with a shorter nose pierced by two holes and a spoon-shaped panel beneath the chassis to keep it within the rules. Pérez finished third in Russia, the team's third podium, and Force India took fifth in the Constructors' Championship, its best result at that point.
