About the Force India VJM03
The VJM03 was Force India's car for 2010, driven by Adrian Sutil and Vitantonio Liuzzi and powered by a customer Mercedes-Benz V8 with a McLaren gearbox. Building on the progress of the 2009 car, it scored on its debut in Bahrain, where Liuzzi finished ninth. Technical director James Key left for Sauber and his successor Mark Smith then left for Lotus, and the team struggled to make its F-duct and exhaust-blown diffuser upgrades work consistently. As the season wore on Force India found itself racing Sauber and Williams more than Renault and Mercedes, and it finished one point behind Williams in the Constructors' Championship.
