About the Force India VJM01
After Vijay Mallya bought Spyker during 2007, the team became Force India for 2008 and raced the VJM01, a slightly modified version of the Spyker F8-VIIB. Testing began in re-liveried F8-VIIBs before the definitive VJM01 ran on 25 February 2008, and the team kept 2007-specification Ferrari V8s to save money. Adrian Sutil and Giancarlo Fisichella raced it all season without scoring a point, despite coming close to fourth place in Monaco. Force India finished last of the teams that completed the season, ahead only of Super Aguri, which had withdrawn after four races.
