About the Fiat Tipo 356

The Fiat Tipo (Type 356) marked the brand's return to the compact family car market, replacing the Bravo with a focus on 'functional' rather than 'emotional' design. Built in Turkey by Tofaş, the 1.4 Easy trim served as the entry-point for the UK market, offering a naturally aspirated FIRE engine and a straightforward equipment list. While it lacked the dynamic polish of a Ford Focus or the interior refinement of a Volkswagen Golf, it was praised for its class-leading interior space and competitive pricing. The model proved particularly successful in Southern Europe and Turkey, where it was marketed as the Egea.
