About the Fiat Croma 194
The second-generation Fiat Croma (Type 194) was a bold attempt to redefine the large family car by blending the attributes of a station wagon and an MPV. Designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro and built on the GM Epsilon platform shared with the Saab 9-3 and Opel Vectra, it featured a high roofline and a spacious, airy cabin. The 1.9-litre MultiJet diesel was the most popular choice, offering a strong balance of torque and efficiency for long-distance cruising. Despite its practicality and five-star Euro NCAP safety rating, it struggled to find an audience outside Italy and was withdrawn from the UK market early due to slow sales.
