About the Fiat Bravo 198
The second-generation Fiat Bravo (Type 198) marked a significant step forward for Fiat in the C-segment, replacing the unloved Stilo with a design developed in just 18 months using advanced virtual prototyping. The 1.4 T-Jet engine was a highlight of the range, utilizing a small-capacity turbocharger to provide the torque of a larger naturally aspirated engine with improved fuel economy. While it shared its platform with the Stilo, the Bravo featured a much more emotive, curvaceous exterior designed by Centro Stile Fiat. It was one of the first cars in its class to achieve a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating, though it was often criticized for having a less engaging driving experience than its contemporary rivals like the Ford Focus.
