About the Fiat 1800

Introduced at the 1959 Geneva Motor Show, the Fiat 1800 was part of a new flagship range designed by Dante Giacosa with sharp 'Farina' styling. It featured a smooth overhead-valve inline-six engine and a sophisticated chassis with torsion bar front suspension, positioning it as a refined alternative to contemporary Mercedes-Benz models. While the larger 2100 offered more power, the 1800 was praised for its balance and was a significant step up for Fiat into the luxury executive market. Today, these saloons are rare survivors, valued for their understated mid-century aesthetic and smooth six-cylinder character.
