About the Dodge 600
The Dodge 600 was introduced as a more sophisticated, 'European-style' alternative to the standard K-car, effectively replacing the Dodge 400. While the sedan utilized the extended-wheelbase E-platform, the coupe and convertible variants remained on the shorter K-body chassis. For 1985, the 2.2-litre base engine transitioned from a carburetor to electronic throttle-body fuel injection, improving drivability and reliability. Though marketed to compete with entry-level European luxury sedans, it remained a quintessentially American front-wheel-drive cruiser of the era. Today, it is a rare sight on the road, primarily remembered as a symbol of Chrysler's 1980s platform-sharing strategy.
