About the Daihatsu YRV
The Daihatsu YRV, standing for 'Young Recreational Vehicle', was a mini-MPV based on the Sirion platform, designed to offer more interior versatility than a standard hatchback. The 1.3 Premium trim utilised the Toyota-sourced K3-VE engine, known for its robust reliability and decent fuel economy. Its distinctive 'double-wedge' styling and tiered rear seating provided excellent visibility and headroom for passengers. While it never achieved mainstream success in the UK, it remains a practical and rare alternative to the contemporary Toyota Yaris.
