About the Daewoo Kalos
The Daewoo Kalos was the first new model launched by the company following its takeover by General Motors, replacing the aging Lanos. Styled by Giorgetto Giugiaro's Italdesign, it featured a surprisingly spacious interior and class-leading headroom for its size. The 1.4-litre 16-valve engine provided a significant performance boost over the entry-level 1.2-litre unit, making it more capable for motorway driving. In late 2004, the Daewoo brand was phased out in Europe, and the Kalos was subsequently rebadged as the Chevrolet Aveo.
