About the Citroën C35
The Citroën C35 was a heavy-duty commercial vehicle developed in partnership with Fiat, who marketed their version as the 242. It was notable for using a four-wheel independent torsion bar suspension system and high-pressure disc brakes on all four wheels, technologies derived from Citroën's passenger car expertise. The 2.5-litre diesel engine introduced in 1980 provided improved torque for heavy hauling compared to the earlier 2.2-litre unit. While most were used as work vans or ambulances, they have gained a niche following among classic van enthusiasts for their unique French engineering and durability.
