About the Chevrolet Montana
Launched in 2003 to replace the Corsa Pick-up, the first-generation Chevrolet Montana was developed by GM do Brasil to compete in the highly competitive 'picape leve' segment. Based on the Opel Corsa C platform, it featured a distinctive 'Max Cab' design that offered more interior storage space behind the seats than its rivals. The 1.8-litre Family 1 engine provided robust torque for its class, making it a favourite for both small business logistics and young urban buyers. Its car-derived underpinnings ensured a more refined ride quality compared to traditional body-on-frame trucks, while maintaining a respectable 735kg payload capacity.
