About the Chevrolet Master

The 1935 Chevrolet Master Deluxe (Series EA/ED) represented a significant leap forward for General Motors, introducing the 'Turret Top' all-steel roof construction which eliminated the traditional fabric inserts. It was powered by the 'Blue Flame' 206.8 cubic inch overhead-valve inline-six, an engine so robust that Toyota famously reverse-engineered it for their first production car, the AA. The 1935 model also featured the 'Knee-Action' independent front suspension on EA models, providing a level of ride comfort that challenged more expensive luxury brands. Today, it is a staple of the pre-war collector scene, prized for its Art Deco styling and role in solidifying Chevrolet's mid-30s sales dominance.
