About the Chevrolet Malibu
The ninth-generation Chevrolet Malibu represented a significant leap forward for the nameplate, built on the E2XX platform which shed nearly 136kg compared to its predecessor. The 2.0-litre turbocharged variant served as the performance flagship, replacing the old V6 with a more efficient and torque-rich power plant. It features a longer wheelbase than previous models, providing much-needed rear legroom and a more composed ride. While it lacks the badge prestige of European rivals, its combination of a smooth 8-speed transmission and a well-isolated cabin made it a highly competitive mid-size offering.
