About the Bugatti Type 57

The Type 57 was the final and most successful road-going model designed by Jean Bugatti before his untimely death. It represented a shift for the Molsheim brand toward a more refined, touring-oriented experience without sacrificing the engineering excellence of its racing predecessors. The 3.3-litre straight-eight engine featured twin overhead camshafts, a rarity for road cars of the era, providing smooth and effortless power. Its chassis served as the foundation for some of the most beautiful coachbuilt bodies in automotive history, including the Ventoux, Galibier, and Stelvio.
