About the BMW X6 M E71
Unveiled at the 2009 New York Auto Show, the E71 X6 M was a controversial pioneer that defined the 'Sports Activity Coupé' segment. It was the first M-badged vehicle to feature xDrive all-wheel drive and a turbocharged engine, specifically the S63 twin-scroll V8. Despite its significant 2.3-tonne kerb weight, the X6 M delivered physics-defying handling thanks to Dynamic Performance Control and active roll stabilisation. It remains a significant milestone in BMW M history, marking the division's shift toward high-performance SUVs and forced induction.
