About the BMW M4 F82
The F82 M4 marked a significant shift for BMW's performance division, replacing the high-revving V8 of its predecessor with a torque-rich 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged straight-six. As the first model to adopt the M4 moniker for the two-door variant, it retained the M3's aggressive DNA while introducing extensive carbon-fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP) construction to save weight. The S55 engine provides relentless mid-range punch, though early cars were noted for their spikey power delivery and challenging rear-end traction. Despite the controversy over its synthetic engine note, the F82 remains a benchmark for the modern daily-drivable sports coupé.
