About the Bentley 3.5 Litre

The 3.5 Litre was the first Bentley produced following the company's acquisition by Rolls-Royce, earning the nickname 'Derby Bentley' after its place of manufacture. It was marketed as 'The Silent Sports Car', successfully blending the sporting heritage of W.O. Bentley with the refinement and reliability of Rolls-Royce engineering. The car used a modified version of the Rolls-Royce 20/25 engine, featuring a higher compression ratio and twin SU carburettors to deliver a more spirited driving experience. Most examples were bodied by Park Ward, though the rolling chassis was supplied to various prestigious coachbuilders, ensuring each car remained a bespoke statement of luxury.
