About the Bedford Rascal
The Bedford Rascal was a badge-engineered version of the Suzuki Super Carry, produced at the IBC Vehicles plant in Luton. Designed to navigate tight urban environments, it became a staple for small businesses and delivery services due to its tiny footprint and impressive 550kg payload capacity. Despite its modest 1.0-litre Suzuki F10A engine, the Rascal's light weight and rear-wheel-drive layout made it surprisingly agile and engaging to drive. Today, it is a cult classic, often sought after for camper conversions or as a nostalgic marketing tool for boutique brands.

Bedford Rascal fun facts
- The Rascal was so narrow that it could fit through gaps that would stop a standard Ford Escort van, making it the ultimate urban delivery vehicle.
- After the Bedford brand was retired in 1990, the model continued to be sold as the Vauxhall Rascal until UK production ended in 1993.
- The Rascal's chassis was famously light; period rumours suggested a bare frame could be lifted by a single person.
